Al-Mutaffifin

1. 83:1PlayMemorise

   وَيۡلٞ لِّلۡمُطَفِّفِينَ 1

   Woe to those who give less [than due]

2. 83:2PlayMemorise

   ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكۡتَالُواْ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسۡتَوۡفُونَ 2

   Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full

3. 83:3PlayMemorise

   وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمۡ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمۡ يُخۡسِرُونَ 3

   But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss

4. 83:4PlayMemorise

   أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبۡعُوثُونَ 4

   Do they not think that they will be resurrected

5. 83:5PlayMemorise

   لِيَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ 5

   For a tremendous Day

6. 83:6PlayMemorise

   يَوۡمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ 6

   The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds

7. 83:7PlayMemorise

   كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلۡفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٖ 7

   No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen

8. 83:8PlayMemorise

   وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّينٞ 8

   And what can make you know what is sijjeen

9. 83:9PlayMemorise

   كِتَٰبٞ مَّرۡقُومٞ 9

   It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed

10. 83:10PlayMemorise

    وَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ 10

    Woe, that Day, to the deniers

11. 83:11PlayMemorise

    ٱلَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ 11

    Who deny the Day of Recompense

12. 83:12PlayMemorise

    وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعۡتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ 12

    And none deny it except every sinful transgressor

13. 83:13PlayMemorise

    إِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ 13

    When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples

14. 83:14PlayMemorise

    كَلَّاۖ بَلۡۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ 14

    No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning

15. 83:15PlayMemorise

    كَلَّآ إِنَّهُمۡ عَن رَّبِّهِمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّمَحۡجُوبُونَ 15

    No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned

16. 83:16PlayMemorise

    ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمۡ لَصَالُواْ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ 16

    Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire

17. 83:17PlayMemorise

    ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ 17

    Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny

18. 83:18PlayMemorise

    كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَٰبَ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ 18

    No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun

19. 83:19PlayMemorise

    وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ 19

    And what can make you know what is 'illiyyun

20. 83:20PlayMemorise

    كِتَٰبٞ مَّرۡقُومٞ 20

    It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed

21. 83:21PlayMemorise

    يَشۡهَدُهُ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ 21

    Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]

22. 83:22PlayMemorise

    إِنَّ ٱلۡأَبۡرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ 22

    Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure

23. 83:23PlayMemorise

    عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ 23

    On adorned couches, observing

24. 83:24PlayMemorise

    تَعۡرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمۡ نَضۡرَةَ ٱلنَّعِيمِ 24

    You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure

25. 83:25PlayMemorise

    يُسۡقَوۡنَ مِن رَّحِيقٖ مَّخۡتُومٍ 25

    They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed

26. 83:26PlayMemorise

    خِتَٰمُهُۥ مِسۡكٞۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكَ فَلۡيَتَنَافَسِ ٱلۡمُتَنَٰفِسُونَ 26

    The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete

27. 83:27PlayMemorise

    وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسۡنِيمٍ 27

    And its mixture is of Tasneem

28. 83:28PlayMemorise

    عَيۡنٗا يَشۡرَبُ بِهَا ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ 28

    A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink

29. 83:29PlayMemorise

    إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجۡرَمُواْ كَانُواْ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ يَضۡحَكُونَ 29

    Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed

30. 83:30PlayMemorise

    وَإِذَا مَرُّواْ بِهِمۡ يَتَغَامَزُونَ 30

    And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances

31. 83:31PlayMemorise

    وَإِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوٓاْ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِمُ ٱنقَلَبُواْ فَكِهِينَ 31

    And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting

32. 83:32PlayMemorise

    وَإِذَا رَأَوۡهُمۡ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّونَ 32

    And when they saw them, they would say, "Indeed, those are truly lost

33. 83:33PlayMemorise

    وَمَآ أُرۡسِلُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَٰفِظِينَ 33

    But they had not been sent as guardians over them

34. 83:34PlayMemorise

    فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡكُفَّارِ يَضۡحَكُونَ 34

    So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers

35. 83:35PlayMemorise

    عَلَى ٱلۡأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ 35

    On adorned couches, observing

36. 83:36PlayMemorise

    هَلۡ ثُوِّبَ ٱلۡكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُواْ يَفۡعَلُونَ 36

    Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do
